Lima, 16.09.22. According to a communication issued today by the Environmental Evaluation and Oversight Agency (OEFA), the authority will this month issue an administrative measure to the company asking us to present a rehabilitation plan for the areas determined as pending recovery.
On April 13, the company reported to the competent authority the completion of the first response actions in the areas identified as impacted by the oil spill.
The company has carried out more than 1,400 physicochemical samplings along the coast – in the sea, on the seafloor, and on the beaches – obtaining optimal results in accordance with the values determined by Peruvian legislation and the highest international standards.
The company reiterates that it continues to await the final report. In the meantime, the company continues monitoring actions and to carry out complementary cleanup actions in the impacted areas.
The company's commitment is to return the coastline to its original state, and it reiterates its collaboration with the authorities so that activities in the area can be resumed as soon as possible.
