Marino Morikawa, a Peruvian scientist who is part of the group of experts convened by Repsol for the remediation of the Peruvian coastline, presents the otter model skimmer.

Morikawa explains that the otter model skimmer is a tool that separates the oil from the water and prevents emulsification. The tool is equipped with a computer, which sends signals to activate a centrifuge that separates the substances. In addition, its compact design allows access to difficult areas, which has proven to be quite helpful for the conditions that have occurred in the spill of January 15, the specialist added.
