Repsol announces that it has made 89% progress in its clean-up schedule and first response actions to the oil spill in Ventanilla to date. Likewise, having completed the removal of the product from the sea surfaces, the company has started the sampling process, in compliance with the mandate and indication of the authorities.
“Independent, and accredited laboratories carry out these samplings. The results will give us reliable information on the state of the water and the bottom,” explains company spokesman José Reyes, through a video communiqué.
Likewise, Repsol maintains permanent monitoring of the coastline and has the necessary resources to act ifnew stains appear from rocks and cliffs due to natural wave action. In addition, the Peruvian scientist Marino Morikawa is working on a biological evaluation of the protected natural areas (PNAs).
The company reiterated its commitment to continue working on restoring the Peruvian coastline, deploying all necessary efforts.
