Repsol Peru reaches compensation agreements with 296 artisanal fishermen from different associations

November 21, 2022 The Pampilla Refinery signed individual compensation agreements with 296 artisanal fishermen affected by the spill in Ventanilla.

In this way, the company reaffirms its commitment to compensate the affected fishermen during the entire period in which fishing activity may be prohibited in the impacted districts.

To date, the company has signed compensation agreements with more than 4,000 people registered in the Single Registry of Affected Persons, carrying out various economic activities.

The company's efforts will continue to focus on compensating the approximately 10,300 people in the Registry, prepared by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and INDECI.

The agreements are made after a process of dialogue with each person and correspond with the degree of impact identified for each family, through a process that follows the guidelines established by the United Nations.

After signing the compensation agreement, the company will focus on carrying out productive and long- term projects that will help improve the quality of life of the families. The company urges and reaffirms its collaboration with the authorities so that economic activities return to the area as soon as possible.
